CATALOGUE HELP
The purpose of this tool is to facilitate the search of StatCan tables (provided by CCSD). You can do a search with the following criteria:
| Cat. No | This is the StatCan catalogue number for the table. Use this field if you know the StatCan catalogue number of a specific table. |
| Keyword | You can write any word in this field. If the word matches a word in the name of a table, the table will appear in the web page |
| Data Source |
You can select a data source like "Census". All the tables associated with the chosen data source will appear in the web page. |
| Years | You can select a year associated with a data source (for example "2001"). All the tables associated with this year will appear in the web page. |
| Release topics | The list of topics is based on the Release topics from StatCan (http://www12.statcan.ca/english/census06/release/index.cfm). For example: Families and households, Mobility and migration, or Language. You can choose only one Topic on the list. All the tables with this topic will appear in the web page |
| Dimensions | These are the dimensions included within a table. For example, the dimensions in the following table are: Age, Family Structure, Sex and Children. Age Groups (12B), Family Structure (7) and Sex (3) for Children in Census Families in Private Households, for Canada, Provinces, Territories and Federal Electoral Districts (2003 Representation Order), 2001 Census - 20% Sample Data - Cat. No. 95F0313XCB2001009. It is possible to select more than one dimension for a search. For example, if you select "Family Structure" and "Age", all the tables with at least these 2 dimensions will appear in the web page. |
| Geography | You can select the desired area (Canada, Province, CT, etc.). |
Finally, it is possible to combine these different criteria.
In this case, only the tables that match the different criteria will appear in the web page.
